My mom has these bugs on her magnolias and they are eating them up !!! (From what my mom says ) What can she use to get rid of them and what are these bugs called

    That's a tiger swallowtail caterpillar. That's a wonderful butterfly to find on your plants. As long as it's a mature tree, it should be able to handle the caterpillars just fine. If it's a younger tree or getting overwhelmed by the caterpillars, you could get another host plant for them and take some off the tree (and either keep or give away the other plant when the growing season ends)
