Is there such a thing as LIQUID BT DROPS that I can put into a water can so I can get rid of fungus gnats?

Yes I believe ace hardware has Monterey B.T. 1 Pint - Bacillus Thuringiensis Organic Insect Pest Control though you may be able to find it in other stores or amazon

The one in the picture, Microbe Lift BMC, has a liquid bottle inside the jar. It’s an odd way of packaging. It’s very concentrated. Designed for large ponds. The application is 1 drop in a 150 gallon pond. So, 1 drop in a gallon or two of plant water is more than enough.

I’ve been trying to research this and am wondering if this product will kill fungus gnats better than the other suggested product called “BT caterpillar control” by southern AG? Is this product for the ISRAELENSIS strain? I think that’s the strain that kills fungus gnats??? Txs for any return help. Regards…🤗💚🪴

This product came today… Hooray! Hope this helps keep those pesky fungus gnats away. Is there anything you can think of that I need to know about before I give this to my plants; I’m not gonna kill them, am I? TIA for any info… 🤗💚🪴

Didn’t you ask the same question yesterday? Try BT Thuricude. It’s liquid form and 98% strength compared to the mosquito bits’ 3%. You need to address the root cause of your fungus gnat issue which is soil that stays wet too long and isn’t getting proper wet-dry cycles. Couple things to try: Changing soil to a chunkier mix that’s well draining. Adding coarse material like perlite or small orchid bark can help. Decrease watering frequency. Increase light and air flow. GL.

Yes, I did ask that question yesterday but I didn’t get any responses right off the bat and I’m going nuts with these fungus gnats! But, thanks so much for the informative text you sent; I will work on improving my plants’ health with all of your great suggestions. One more question: since this Thuricide is so potent, can it harm my plants in anyway? It doesn’t say anything about usage with house plants, so I have some concerns. TIA for any info concerning this. 🤗💚🪴

Thurcide is the Btk strain of the bacteria verses Microbe Lift/Mosquito Bits which has the Bti strain. Btk kills caterpillars/moths/butterflies. Bti kills the larvae of fungus gnats and mosquitoes in the soil.

I use it with all my outdoor plants including a couple pothos varieties, Thai Con, monstera Albo, Philo Basil, ficus plants and a few others. I usually do a capful per gallon of water or so. I’ve definitely seen a decrease in flying bugs, specifically mosquitoes since I started. Hasn’t caused any problems so far. I’ve been using beneficial nematodes for my indoor plants.

So in your opinion, I should be using Microbe Lift rather than Thuricide for treatment and prevention of fungus gnats? Have you used it for many of your plants in the past and do you use it on a regular basis? Not knowing the product, I’m a little uneasy using it the first time. TIA for any comments regarding this post. Regards, 🤗💚🪴

It’s up to you to weigh the pros and cons after doing research. Then, choose what’s best for you. Test it on a plant. My preference is mosquito bits (Bti) because I have used them when I water my 100+ plants. I don’t have a fungus gnat problem. I use it regularly. Sorry for the slow response. 🍀🪴
