Why my basil has this little yellow dots on the leaves? I’m a beginner plant parent. I got it from my friend several weeks ago. It’s on my southwest facing patio with direct sunlight. I live in Northern California. I water once a day in the morning and remove the excessive water. Thank you for your help.

Have you fertilized? This works great for food plants.

Oh yeah I fertilized with this fertilizer but I only fertilized twice since I got them. Would it help if I fertilize more often?

You’ll have to see how often Planta says to fertilize basil. I haven’t grown it in a couple years. I have found that the slow release fertilizer granules works really well for my food plants since they get fertilized a little every time I water.

I see. Sounds like I might fertilized it too early coz my planta hasn’t asked me to fertilize it yet. 😅 thank you so much for the chat Succulent ❤️ Mama

I checked and it says every 8th day in June, so you are good.😊 I wonder if fertilizer reminders are a premium feature?🤔 I forget which ones are. I guess that’s another reason I like the slow release granules. I don’t have to remember to fertilize them regularly, just add it sometimes. I have ADHD and 4 kids so I absolutely will forget.😅

That’s smart! I’ll get slow release granules and will happily not to worry about it. Thanks for checking ❤️
