Brand new to plants. I repotted this in a ceramic pot with one hole for drainage. Water 1-2x/week. The leaves near the soil are dead, there is some new growth at the ends. My string of tears looks the exact same. What am I doing wrong? Edit to say: the soil in the Creepy Jenny is dry and the string of pearls is moist.

I have a creeping Jenny also!! I would first check the bottom for root rot or moistness, if the bottom is not moist I would definitely give her a water and let it drain. She is looking limp so I think that is the best option. Maybe time for a repot too? Also ran into the same problem with my Jenny (dry leaves at the bottom, new growth at the top). Go through and pick out those dry leaves if you want. I don’t think they are any harm though. Just give her a water. Hope this helps! :D

All the bottom leaves are dry and brittle. Like I’m afraid to repot them. Both plants are about 2 weeks old.

Are they getting full sun? Are you waiting until they’re completely dry to rewater (by checking the soil to make sure it’s not damp)?

They are on the porch with morning sun. Probably not. I just ask my son to water them. 🤷🏻‍♀️ When I say new, I mean new. I need to check the soil before every watering?

They need a lot of sun to dry out the soil completely (at least the tears do). It is important to check the soil each time so you don’t overwater. Overwatering is certain death for tears.
