HELP! My snow queen pothos is infected with bugs. Ive already repotted it twice in new soil. I’ve been watering with peroxide and water (mostly water) to kill the bugs. I placed cinnamon on top of the soil to prevent flies which has helped. But I still see tiny bugs in the soil. The plant seems to be fine for now. What should I do?

I would use a cedar oil spray. Cedar oil irritates bug’s breathing holes 🕳️ located all over their bodies. They suffocate to death. Cedar oil is beneficial for the soil too. It encourages healthy nematodes that eat the harmful insects.

Replacing the soil just gives the bugs a fresh kitchen to use.

You could try taking it out of the soil and immersing the plant in water for a day or so. I like peppermint spray

There are little fly catchers that look like butterflies. I’ve heard neem oil helps, but haven’t tried it. Make sure there is good drainage. The type of soil you use can make this work. Fungus gnats are usually harmless.

Yes. I have the yellow fly stickers for the mature flies. I bought neem oil today. I will try it out. Wish me luck 🤞

I recently had bugs on my snake plant and after spraying it with a spray made using water, neem oil, and isopropyl alcohol I haven noticed them at all!

Cinnamon just stops mold. Get some beneficial nematodes like for ponds or the mosquito bits and make a tea out of it and water plants. Fungus gnats only harmful to young plants with small roots. They eat plant matter so the better your soil, the more gnats you’ll experience. I do the mosquito bits tea watering whenever I bring in new plants or season changes.
