Make sure there proper drainage in the pot ur using it has helped me a ton, also it might be time to size up the pot an inch but idk for sure 🩷🫡
0 Me gustaI have repotted it because when it first turnt yellow it was in a self watering pot and I felt like the soil was always very wet so I repotted it into a different pot that has space on the bottom for drainage with room .. that’s why I’m confused
0 Me gustaIs the pot maybe a little too big compared to the root ball? Yellowing and dropping leaves could indicate over watering - how did the roots look when you repotted it?
0 Me gustaThey were fine and strong … The new pot isn’t that bigger than the one it came in. I only repotted it because I seen it was always extremely damp due to the kind of self watering pot it was in
0 Me gustaHow long ago did you make these changes? Plants can be slow to adjust to their new environment - you may see another yellow leaf or two before the plant stops “panicking”
0 Me gustaI’m gonna say the beginning of last month
0 Me gustaProbably not that then, enough time has gone by. The tap water comment is very likely too, the hard tap water in my area causes my plants all kinds of problems
2 Me gustaI believe Chinese evergreens are sensitive to tap water. Not the chlorine, but the minerals. So you would need to use distilled water. Not sure if correct but something you may want to check out. And that could be the cause.
1 me gustaI seen something about this but about my spider plant .. I think I’m gonna just switch all my plants to distilled water
0 Me gustaI know calatheas are and so are certain Draceanas. I use nothing but RO water (same as distilled) for all my plants.
0 Me gustaFrom my experience with aglaonema, they enjoy being more snug in their pots and being in a well-draining soil, so if the pot it’s currently in is more than 1-2 inches larger in diameter to the root ball of your plant, that could definitely be contributing to the problem, even after a repot. If the soil is something of Miracle Grow brand, it might not be well-draining enough for this plant, even with additives like perlite and orchid bark, and especially if you live in a more humid environment, cause even their cactus mix tends to be too poor with drainage and take much longer than other soil mixes to dry out. If you need any brand recommendations for soil mixes to try if that’s the case, I swear by Espoma’s soil, and you could mix their Organic All-Purpose mix with their Cactus and Succulent mix for this plant. I do agree that tap water could definitely be making your plant unhappy too. I use filtered water from my fridge and fill multiple bottles at a time and let them come to room temperature to water my more tap-sensitive plants. Hope this helps!
