Got this little silver moon Hoya on fb yesterday, it has one root growing out of this little cup already however I’m more curious about the green algae stuff. I know usually that stuff isn’t harmful but is it a sign of needing to be repotted? Also this is my first Hoya, what are some recommendations you guys have for care?

The algae grew from light entering the clear pot. Not an issue. You can place the pot inside a solid no transparent pot to stop the growth. Repot when there are more roots weaving through the soil. You can tuck that root back inside the pot. It likely a root tapping into drainage water. 🪴🍀

Be careful about overwatering. I'm not sure if it was something i did or the previous owner, but with my first hoya i found out just how fast they can rot. I currently have just stems in water hoping for leaves
