Hi there, whatâs wrong with my snake plant?
Hi there, whatâs wrong with my snake plant?
Looks to be very overwatered. Take it out of the pot and trim any rotten/ black roots and repot into a well draining cactus/ succulent soil. The mushy leaves will not recover, cut them off and donât water for a bit. And when you do, water from the bottom- it will encourage the roots to grow down and seek the water without it getting too waterlogged.

0 gillningarLet it completely go bone dry before you do water. I've had mine for years and I water it sometimes no more than once every two months.
3 gillningarTry treating it with an anti fungal after itâs soil is completely dried out. You can use either hydrogen peroxide diluted or my personal choice Arber defungicide. Moving forward water much less! They naturally do better in drought than overwatering.
1 gillaSince you will be taking it out of the pot, bring the soil up closer to the top. It may be minor but it will probably help with air circulation for the plant. Helps the soil dry out too.
0 gillningarCheck out the roots and soak in a diluted hydrogen peroxide solution. It looks like inconsistent watering you can look for root rot and dry rot. While itâs ok to occasionally let a snake plant go past the âdry ready to water stage, doing this frequently can lead to root problems.
