My polka dot plant is SO sad :( it was all dry and crispy at the start so I decided to water it. 2-3 hours later I check up on it and itās so mushy and soft, and it just looks bad. Itās repotted but doesnāt have any holes. I usually donāt do this with any of my plants but I was going to assume it wouldāve been fine. I donāt think it has root rot but I need help. Any recommendations will be taken š.
I would honestly be surprised if it came back from that :(

If the pot doesnāt have drainage it could be drowning. Or in shock from going from super dry to super wet
3 LikesHave you repotted since it has been in this state? If notā¦ that might be your last home. Find something small and shallow. That way thereās more air flow for itās roots. No way to know if itās root rot or not until you pull it up. Thatās my advice. Of course if you decide to repot definitely pull off any roots that do not appear to be in strong healthy condition.

I donāt think terracotta is the best choice as they are humidity loving plants that donāt like to dry. If you think there is still hope you can try putting it in a ziplock bag or put a clear container over it to increase the humidity. But honestly I donāt want to give you false hope. Good luck
