I was just given this pothos plant. It was healthy when I got it a couple weeks ago but is not fairing well. I water and drain once a week. Had it outside for a bit but brought it in when we were looking at freezing temps, and now have it in the window. Total beginner so don’t even know where to start. Any ideas what is ailing my little pothos?

I would say it looks severely overwatered. Are you checking the soil dryness level before watering?

Oh nooo! Once a week is too much. Would also recommend poking holes into that cup and putting it on a saucer after you check those roots and make sure they’re not black and mushy. Looks super overwatered and she might not make it. I’d put in new dry soil and leave it just to see. For the future: until you’re a pro, plants need drainage holes in their pots. Most plants require one good drink and then for the soil to nearly dry completely between watering (this varies from plant to plant). You’re giving this little friend a touch too much love ❤️ Sending you all the best at a recovery.

Agreed, some people are just excellent with their watering and can handle one or two pots. I personally can’t.

I’m new at this too. If this one happens to pass away, I hope you try again! If at first you don’t succeed…try, try again. 💚
