What should I do for this pothos with curling leaves and its new leaves not unfurling? It doesn’t get much light where it is and I just repotted it cause it was root bound. It is new.

Mine was like this a few days ago and just needed some water. Now its back to normal.
1 likeThey curl a lot when they have been without water a long time. It’s the plants way of conserving water in the leaves. New leaves have difficulty unfurling when they are too dry. Mist those new leaves. The leaves are flat when they are fully watered. They go slightly limp when they need water. They roll into a scroll in a last effort to survive. 😁 Scindapus plants are one of the few pothos that do not immediately go yellow or crispy brown when they need water. That’s why I own four varieties. Also, clay pots dry out the soil. You have to water until both the soil and clay pot are saturated. You can bottom water by soaking the entire pot. Drain well. I prefer plastic pots with pothos and keep them in a decorative ceramic pot. Good luck 🍀 🪴

I did this when I saw your comment, my plant looks the same, is that ok?
0 likesDo you mean there is no change with the leaves after thoroughly watering both the clay pot and plant? If so, wait a day to allow the roots to take in water. You should see the leaves start unfurl. Post a picture 24 hours after you water.

Yea that’s what I meant, the leaves have started in curling actually, only a few aren’t now, thanks!
0 likesI love my clay pots because roots need oxygen and it helps them breathe, although plastic pots work too (or ceramic) as long as there is drainage, just check the soil and see if it needs water. I like to use a bamboo skewer, I gently stick it to the bottom of the soil and pull it out and feel if it’s wet or not. Also, maybe give it some more light? It may just be bouncing back from being new and from being repotted… I’m sure it’ll do great!

definitely needs some water. oh and a scindapsus is not a pothos. same family but two different genus. you have a scindapsus for sure. it might be the silvery ann…

True, but to Clark’s defense, planta calls it (erroneously) a ‘satin pothos’.

Oh wow I didn’t know that haha thanks
2 likesI agree pothos and scindapus are siblings under the same plant family. Scindapus is not a pothos.
