Hello, so I have two polka dot plants and both aren’t doing well. I don’t know what’s wrong with them. The leaves get really dry and it doesn’t help when I water them and wait. This is the before and after. I don’t know if it’s because it’s winter and it’s too cold in my room but all my other plants are doing fine. Any idea what could be wrong? Thanks.

Hey!! So I had a similar problem with mine. They got super leggy so I did some research and saw that trimming them Back will help but just do it week by week as it is winter now! But as soon as I cut mine back a bit they came back to life and gave me more fuller happier leaves!

So just cutting above a node. And more leaves will pop up! Be sure to keep they watered too as they can be super dramatic! I tend to bottom water mine x

This is my leggy one and since cutting 3 long stems off she’s bushing at the bottom now and I’m so pleased! Hope this helps!!

I cut it back and put it in water. It seems to be doing better. It’s sticking up straight again and the remaining leaves look healthy so far. I put her in water last night.

My sister-in-law had the same problem. When she put them under a strong grow light she got new shoots from the soil within a week or so. They looks super healthy and are nice and bushy and cute. If you are keeping up with watering then I think it might be a light problem.

You can pinch the new leaves off before they develop to encourage it to put out more lower leaves instead of growing vertically which helps it not look so leggy
