Hi! I’m new to raising plant babies and would like a little advice. This is my monstera. A friend of mine propagated it for me so I am trying my best to keep it alive. I have 2 stems with no leaves and I was told to cut it at the base and possibly a new shoot will grow..is that the only way to get new leaves? I would like more stems to grow but I’m not sure how. Any advice? Thank you! Edit: this picture was taken at night- it is next to a big window so there’s plenty of light!

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I heard that cutting the older leaves helps the plant put its energy into making new ones, but I never owned one myself so I’d get a second opinion.. hope this helps!

To me it looks like it is reaching. Meaning not enough light that’s why there are long stems and no leaves. I could be wrong though
