My birkin isnāt doing so hott :( I (think) Iām pretty good about not over/under watering but I could be wrong! It gets indirect light, I could relocate to somewhere brighter if it needs?

What type of soil is it in? What is your watering schedule like? Do you wait until the soil is dry before watering again?

I use the Planta schedule but donāt water until itās actually dry. The soil it came in Iām not actually sure, itās a mossy-ish texture

Yeah I would diy your own soil to make sure itās a good mix and itās cheaper in long run. Or you can find premixed kinds in some small nurseries or Etsy that is the right ratio of amendments but usually pricier. You can find diy recipes online. I took from a few different recipes and what I could more readily and cost effectively find and the one I made is 40% sphagnum peat moss, 30% perlite, 20% earthworm castings, 5% tropical soil, 5% reptile bark or orchid bark

I am using tap water but our water is pretty good here. I have other plants that are sensitive but doing fine with the water. Can switch it up if the birkin is extra sensitive. Will check out their channel thank you!!!

looks like either itās been watered too frequently or the soil is too dense and doesnāt dry out quickly enough

Ive had the same problem! I changed the soil to a more aroid appropriate mix and it has helped. The soil I was using was retaining way too much moisture causing the roots to begin to to rot. That would be my suggestion

I would recommend repotting with a chunky/airoid mix, you can add stuff like perlite or orchid bark or buy a prepaid mix. It allows better airflow and drainage. Philodendrons usually prefer a chunky mix from my experience. And maybe adjust lighting and watering schedule. It definitely doesnāt want to be too far from the window or a grow light. And for watering I would say every 2-3 weeks/if the soil has completely dried out. Iām no professional, these are just beginner tips I needed and thought you might find them useful! Good luck!
