Can someone explain these black dots? I got this plant in bad shape, trying to help it recover. Been spraying it with neem oil every 7 days or so for about 3 weeks but doesn’t seem to be helping.

allieHmmm. It doesn’t really look like bugs. But you could dampen a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and rub it over that spot to see if that helps

Claire5904It’s is normal. Those plants push out extra minerals from their leaves frequently. It’s nothing to be concerned about. It’s called guttation. Mine used to push out crusty little white things. My piper crocatum is loaded with little black deposits. I thought it was bug dew or eggs at first too.
