Anyone familiar with what might be happening to my monstera adansonii? This is only on two leaves and they are towards the top of my giant plant. It’s near a south facing window and has been for seven months. It’s treated with systemic granules and there are no signs of spider mites/webbing. I spray it down every other watering with insecticidal soap as a preventative. I water when it’s almost 100% dry - I tend to underwater, and I’ve read this could be because of that. It’s been growing non-stop too! The first two pics show the two leaves that are acting up. The last two pics show a pic of the giant plant plus one of three new leaves it’s currently pushing out.

what type of soil is it planted in? looks like these marks could be from the soil staying wet too long and then dry too long, and back and forth. if it’s potted in a standard potting mix i’m guessing that’s the cause

similar yellow markings on my adansonii which is potted directly in miraclegro’s succulent mix — a very dense peat-based soil. last year this plant was rotting and in an emergency was potted directly in this mix without amendments. she’ll be repotted with extra perlite and bark in the soil this spring

it’s in a chunky soil mix I make with potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark. I only water when it’s almost completely dry so it’s definitely not staying wet too long. perhaps dry a little too long though…

i would definitely recommend keeping a closer eye on it to see if maybe under watering is the cause of the spots. it may also be getting rootbound which will cause the soil to dry out much faster
