This plant was given to me by a friend who couldn’t look after it anymore. The base had totally come out of the ground so I repotted it back into the same pot and same soil and gave it some water. Just until I figure out how to look after it best. It doesn’t seem to be doing well has anyone any advice?

Given that you water it well, provide it with good light, it could be the chemicals in the tap water. They are really susceptible to it, best is to give it distilled water

When did you get it? Doesn’t look like new damage to me. Looks like it happened over a period of time. I have the same corn plant. It likes a lot of light ( I have mine in a south facing window) to keep the variegation and doesn’t need to be watered often. They like hot dry conditions. Wait until the soil is dry before watering again. I use tap water and she perfectly fine. So I guess it’s depends on the tap water. That’s never been a problem for me for any of my plants including my calathea. (Knock on wood lol) Easy low maintenance plant. IMO

Ahh guys it’s definitely happening fast, when she delivered it, it was completely uprooted. I’ll attach a before when it just arrived, this was about 3 weeks ago.
