Please help! I’ve recently been getting into house plants so I’m far from an expert. My partner’s grandmother passed away last spring and she left behind a pathos plant. I believe it’s a jade pathos. Either way, it was left completely unattended for weeks on end and when discovered we tried to save it. Unfortunately it is lost all its leaves and is down to just a few vines in the pot even after trying to get it on a regular watering schedule. Can anyone recommend some tips of how we can revive this thing? I read that so long as there are at least a couple of live nodes on the vine, it’s possible but I’m at a loss. Any and all help would be appreciated as we’d like to keep her grandmothers plant alive.

I also recently got into houseplants and am far from an expert, but that live node looks very promising so try not to stress too much! Pothos are very resilient (although I did kill one at the beginning of my journey). It could just be stressed from the neglect + being moved to a new environment. Make sure you aren’t overwatering and don’t rely solely on the app’s watering schedule (that’s how I killed mine - root rot). Now I just use the app as a reminder to check the soil. The top 1-2 inches should be dry before you water. Since it’s winter it won’t need water very often. Pothos aren’t really picky about light condition, but make sure it isn’t in full sun or full shade - happy medium is the safest bet. If your light condition and top soil seem good then pull it out and check the roots/bottom soil. It could be root bound and need to be repotted, or if the roots are soft/starting to get mushy it’s been overwatered and should be repotted asap with an airier mix. Best of luck!!

I always put some of mine into water when I’m worried so if you repot you could always cut a piece off and put it in water as a back up plan

I would take some cuttings into a glass of water and give it decent light…. These plants are some of the easiest to grow so I bet it’ll sprout roots quickly!
