I have a ficus microcarpa Ginseng and some of the leaves are turning yellow and falling off. I’ve had this happen a little before, but not sure exactly why. Is it from not enough water? Anything I can do to fix it? Also would fertilizer help? Thanks so much

I find when my plants yellow it’s from overwatering, but if the leaves are also turning brown and crispy it could be low light as well.

My general rule is if the leaves start showing problems I pull the plant and check the roots. A repot is never a bad idea if you see anything suspicious.

It’s probably from overwatering as mentioned. Mine is similar in size, in a much shallower pot, with a very chunky/airy soil mixture, and I water every 2+ weeks for reference. Yours likely would need to be stretched even longer than that due to pot depth and what I can see of the soil. It’s hard to tell in the pictures, but if your soil isn’t very chunky i’d consider repotting with a new soil mixture to help with drainage. Keep a close eye on those white spots as well! My ginseng is battling spider mites at the moment and white spots on the leaves were the first sign.
