So I ordered a fiddle leaf fig off of Amazon for my besties birthday… and I just got it today! From the side and top she looks gorgeous and healthy but as you can see in the pics the underside of the leaves has these red/ brown spots on them. And one of the leaves has a hole in it 😭 So my question is… 1. Do you think it’s still healthy enuf to give to my bestie… I do have a very healthy one that I cd give her instead. 2. What shud can be done to get the spots of and shud I remove the leaf that has a whole in it. TIA☺️🪴

Does your friend have a green thumb? 😬 If not, I’d suggest giving them your healthy one. It will take some TLC to see how this one turns out. Im also super curious about the long sprout coming out the top. 🧐 It’s hard to tell how new those leaves are… the red could be edema, which most will mostly go away if they’re still new-ish leaves (typically from too much water). Be sure it has well-draining soil, and get it on a good routine. I wouldn’t worry about the one with a hole… ads character. 😆 Be sure to check for pests! 🙏🏼

The soil was SOAKING wet when it arrived, so I repotted it. So hopefully that’s the only reason why the spots on on there 🤞🏾 My friends isn’t a super green thumb but her dad is def a pro at plants 💯🪴 Thx for the advice

Totally agree with this! If the edema doesn’t go away, unfortunately there isn’t anything you can do to remove the spots beside pruning
