I was gifted this alocasia today from a local nursery but it seems like they cut into it. what should i do? would it survive? update: i wash off the dirt and took off as much as i could of the squishy stuff and then washed it with water & hydrogen peroxide. The few roots it did have were healthy & signs of new growth. crossing my fingers 🤞🏼 that this will help. Really dont want it to die.

Looks to me like a bad case of overwatering, but if it has at least some healthy roots, it definitely has a chance. Remove any mushy, brown roots and make sure the pot has drainage holes. Change the soil and you should be good. 👍
