How should I repot? My poor snake plant was suffering in this huge pot and half of it has root rot. My mistake for putting in a pot that was too large. Now wondering if I can save the other pieces by putting in a smaller pot with cactus soil. Please help!!

They definitely look save-able. I would pick something 1” larger than the “root ball” to make sure it dries out between waterings. In your case, 1” larger then the plants you are putting together. Make sure it has good drainage, and definitely a cactus/succulent mix. If you’ve got some perlite I would add that in as well for even more drainage. I would wait 2-3 days after repotting before I water due to excessive moisture being the problem to begin with. Once I do water, I bottom water only allowing the plant to absorb water 50% of the way as I’d rather keep these on the dryer side, especially while in rehab mode. No fertilizer until I see new growth happening. This is what has worked for me, its not everyone’s methods. I’m sure many people will have good suggestions for you. Good luck!

Thank you. I chose the smallest pot I have for half the plant. The other half I cut the mushy parts on the bottom and am going to let them callus for a day or so before repotting. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Besides what Greenleaf suggested I would also mix 50% water and peroxide in a bowl and wash the roots really well to kill and bacteria from the root rot. You want to discourage any further damage now. Cut off any gross damaged roots. If you feel it’s too far gone then toss it. At least by washing them this way you can really get a good look at the roots.
