I’ve recently been seeing fruit flys around my plants, anyone know if this will harm my plants?

Fungus gnats. The larvae can eat the roots. A very slow process. But the gnats multiply very very quickly. Change out the soil of affected plants and get sticky traps.

Thanks they seem to just be around the plants. Should still change soil?

the eggs and larvae live in the soil and adults can fly around. changing the soil isnt always nessicary, you can flush the soil with a few things, im cant remember what exactly. if you search for fungus gnats in the community posts, there should be some better tips under other posts. hope this helps!

hydrogen peroxide helps kill larvae in soil. i do one part peroxide to 3-4 parts water and water the plant w it like normal

i’ve always had success with using this method too! flushing the soil to get rid of the larvae and then setting traps to catch the adult gnats has worked well for me :]

Hey, y’all! I just made a post about fungus gnats. You can get mosquito drops to put in your watering can on Amazon to kill the larvae and eventually you won’t see any more adults.
