I got this beautiful Albo a couple of weeks ago, on a great deal since there was some yellowing on the leaves. The bottom leaf continued to yellow after I brought it home, so I repotted. Roots were super healthy, root rot is definitely not the issue. But I can’t figure out what is. No obvious signs of pests. I am continuing to treat with insecticide and a fungicide just in case. Could it be an excess fertilizer thing? Any other thoughts?

That’s one of its oldest leaves, I wouldn’t worry too much. The plant looks super happy and healthy otherwise.

Might just be stress if there’s no pests or root rot. The transferring of homes and pots and environments will stress them, and it’s not uncommon to drop leaves from that.

I think this is the problem. I did see a bug flying around it last night and I wasn’t sure what it was. I’ll Continue to treat w/ insecticidal soap. Any other tips to combat this? Do they spread easily to other plants?

thrips are very common houseplant pets. The best way to be sure, is to wipe the leafs with a dry white tissue and see if it turns purple. Now, as for treatment, cut the effected leaf(s). Then, i’m in canada and have access to very limited products, mostly safer’s insecticide soap – which requires me to daily/weekly wash the plant and it’s soil to kill the insect at their different stages. If you’re in the usa, you have systemeic products that will make this quite easy, look for dead bug brew or anything with spinosad!

Agreed with Pierre. Jacks dead bug brew and Bonide systemic granules are the way to go. How much light does your plant get and how often are you watering?
