hi everyone! i’m new to this app/group/being a plant owner, so i apologize if this question has already been asked! i’m having some trouble with gnats around my plants. i’ve made some little apple cider vinegar with sugar and dish soap bowls placed around my place, but i was curious if y’all have any tips that help with the actual plants?

I was able to get rid of mine with the yellow sticky traps and a bug zapper. Misquoto bits will take care of them too

Which bug zapper do you have? I use a Katchy, it’s been super helpful during summertime

Repot any offending plants, use sticky traps. When I repotted I dumped the soil into ziplocks to examine the soil afterwards, but also to keep any gnats from escaping. The repotting was the thing that finally fixed my problem. The larvae and eggs are in the soil.

you need to kill the larvae in the soil. the sticky traps on kill adults. get some BTI drops and add 1 drop per gallon of water and use every time you water your plants. it’s a bacteria that kills the larvae. I use it and have zero gnats. I also have a plug in light-bug-killer and that that gets any new gnats that fly in through house plus all of other bugs too.
