hi everyone! so i’ve been super busy with work and school and i forgot to move my monstera inside 😭 it’s been really cold the last few days and i’m guessing the plant was shocked by the cold. Didn’t know if anyone had input if it would bounce back, hopefully!?

The foliage is gone. Better to cut them back until you find a section that is not compromised. There may not be any viable foliage. But, the root system might be undamaged or lightly damaged. My monstera went through 5 days of sub freezing temperatures and the roots miraculously lived in its 18” wide pot. I kept watering it for months. The plant revived in spring. I recommend you trim the foliage and water to keep the roots alive if there are any good roots left.

Cut off all the mushy and dying parts. That may be all of it. Leaving it attached while it rots will only attract pests and grow diseases. Check the roots for rotten parts and remove those too. Rinse it all with hydrogen peroxide to kill bacteria. Let the trimmed roots dry out a few hours (form a callous) before putting it back into the pot. You may have to start with a new plant if there are no undamaged parts left.
