Hi! I’ve had this coleus plant for a good while now, when I first got it, it was in soil but slowly started dying so I put it just in water and it was doing absolutely amazing for like 4 months. Out of no where though recently the roots started turning brown, these black spots on the leaves started forming, and had a few leaves around the side fall off completely. It was super droopy as well, I moved it to a different location of my house and changed the jar to a smaller one. It’s growing new white roots as you can see and looks better, but i’m just wondering what did I do wrong? Was it just the plant or me? I want to know so I don’t do it again.

How often are you adding new water and doing water changes? Plus could also be a fertilizer issue.

I was doing water changes prob every other week. I’ve been doing them frequently though and it’s doing better.

When you water do you just leave it stale or do you add water every couple days? Reason is because adding water helps to add oxygen so the roots can breathe a bit

I leave it stale. That’s a very good reason. Thank you!

Make sure you’re adding nutrients to the water too. I use Superthrive
