This is my first encounter with black aphids. I think they are aphids. Whatever they are, they are annoying since they headed straight for the tender new growth on my Hoya Bella. I have sprayed soapy dishwater on them and the 10 plants close by with subsequent spraying to follow every week. Oh well…🪲

Aphids are easy to get rid of with a spray of liquid soap. I use it all the time on my outdoor plants. Take care not to use dish detergent tho. It can burn some leaves.

Thank you. I’ve used Dawn dishwashing liquid in a water solution on all my indoor plants for months. I don’t have any sensitive to it. My Hoya Bella is outside, now. So, I get insects sometimes. This is the first time getting black aphids.
