Hello! I hope everyone is having a good week, it’s almost Friday! 😁 I’m looking for a little advice. This is my propagated Tradescantia - Blushing Bride. It had some issues when I first moved it to soil with brown spots on the leaves. I ended up removing the leaves and hoped for the best. It has made a come back and has been growing well. I’ve noticed the ends of the leaves are browning. They come in looking great, but not long after this. What am I doing wrong? I know I’m the problem. 😂 I usually let it it dry out about 50% before watering and it’s in a south facing window, but the blinds are partially closed to filter in the light.

Could be over watering, tradescantia can go pretty long on between waterings. I would let it dry out more. It definitely don’t look like a lighting issue

My first guess would be overwatering.

It’s probably overwatering if there is still moisture in the soil. Tradescantia holds a lot of water. Let it dry out more between watering. Also, they thrive full sun not filtered light. Give it more light and it will use up the water faster.

Thanks! I will let it dry out more. I did forget to mention it also has a grow light over it for most of the day. I am afraid to sun burn the leaves on my plants. I had more recently moved many of my plants from a east facing window to a south. It was mostly to protect them from my cats. 😂

Another thing it could be is high mineral content in your water. Try using filtered water & it should help out in not developing any more.

Thanks for the suggestion! I use distilled water on all of my plants.
