I noticed these on my roommates plant last night and sprayed it down with neem oil to be safe but does anyone know what it is? Thrips or some other kind of pest was my guess.

Those are normal hairs on the leaf. Nothing to treat.

I was going to guess white fly.
1 mi piaceI would have to say whiteflies. I am having an issue with them on my mint, and basil plants. I took a chance with my mints, and left them outside when the temps dropped to 32°. That worked! They were all laid out the next day, but I had to bring my basil plants in. They can't take the cold. I invested in sticky traps. I hope that will keep them at bay. I hope this helps, and I hope you get a solution!
1 mi piaceThrips or white flys for sure. I suggest that you wipe the leaves with neem oil, then use sticky traps to keep them at bay. Hope that helps!
