I have this plant that came with a bunch of leaves in now and only has three does anyone have any ideas what I’m doing wrong

    It looks like the pot doesn’t have a drainage hole, which is generally needed to keep a plant alive

    Maybe it’s just a fussy princess and trying to make you prove your loyalty while it adjusts? But agree, check for drainage holes, if not repot

    rocks on top of the soil is notorious for causing watering issues. they’ll trap moisture in the pot and may cause the roots to suffocate, especially in a non-porous pot like the glazed ceramic pot pictured. a drainage hole or several is also a requirement for thriving plants. when you repot make sure it’s planted in a well-draining mix to prevent overwatering. it should be at least 50% drainage material for this sort of plant (try adding perlite, pumice, or even fir bark chunks)
