Hi, any advice on mealy bugs? I found one on my string of hearts but checked the plant and found no more. Should I be worried and treat the plant?

    Spray with soapy dishwater to be safe. Spray again in a week. There may be some mealybug ancestors hidden away.

    that honestly looks like perlite! you sure they are mealies? you can tell by putting some rubbing alcohol on the tip of q-tip and if it’s a mealie, the mealie will instantly die and turn brown.

      No no, I know that's perlite. I found 1 mealy bug on a stem and I don't have a photo of it so I just used that photo.

      oh phew! I would watch the plant. I’ve had ONE mealy bug on one plant once and I just killed it and watched it and nothing ever happened. but if you see another, I would go ahead and treat it, for sure.
