My birds nest fern is growing well however some of the leaves have brown marks and spots appearing. Also the soil looks a bit like velvet, any idea whats causing these things? Is the velvety soil a problem or is it normal?

    Your roots may be sick. It looks it.

    It looks pot bound, you need to repot it in a bigger pot and use well draining soil. Only water when the top 2 inches of the soil is dry
