Should I remove these pitchers from my pitcher plant? If so, how do I do it? Cut off the entire leaf or just cut off the pitcher? Thanks for your help and advice!

Somewhere I read that you can cut off the pitchers so the plant can put its energy elsewhere, but I haven’t been since I worry then it’s not getting the nutrients from the bugs she caught. So final answer: 🤷‍♀️

Side note: Reading “so the plant can put its energy elsewhere” is the type of fact that hooked me to plants.

I would remove the right one and leave the left one for now. From my understanding, once the pitcher starts dying, the plant is “eating” and absorbing nutrients. So if you cut them off before they’ve browned all the way, they’re not getting a chance to finish their meal haha.

Also, no need to cut off the whole leaf while it’s still green. Just clip the pitcher only. Once the leaf dies eventually, you can remove the leaf.
