Heyy, I go t a majesty palm 3 months ago it was replanted in a big 50 cm planter. It didn’t have a drainage at first and we opened it up a few days ago. Ever since we got the plant the branches one by one started getting yellow first then turned brown and crispy. It has already happened to 4 branches so far :(. Don’t know what to do. It didn’t have any direct sunlight. Only indirect as I was told. And I watered it every week. The thing is I dont know how much water it needs and how often. And WHY the leaves are turning yellow and brown?

i don’t have one of these to speak from experience but weekly watering is probably too frequent if the pot has minimal to no drainage, also a chunkier soil might help if you are going to water weekly

I agree. Sounds like too much water. Either invest in a moisture meter or stick your finger into the soil to see if it’s wet. You could end up with root rot. That happened to my palm that was also in a big pot with know drainage.

And other thing to consider is the pot you have it in (bulbous). At some point this will need to be repotted. How will you get it out? The roots will be bigger than the opening. You may have to bust the pot:(

I wouldn’t have even thought about it but I got a new book on houseplants yesterday and it literally had a section about this. 🤪 It’s a super cute pot though!
