i have a baby leaf on my monstera deliciosa that has turned brown. i think i went too long before watering, but would i be able to salvage it? all the other leaves are fine

See if you can manually unfurl it, get a sock or something and dampen it and rub the furled leaf from the top to the bottom, and it should hopefully unfurl in 15-30 mins if not you can do it manually with your fingers. Just be gentle

have you fertilized your monstera? i’m fairly certain that the new leaves die like this if there isn’t enough nutrients in the soil. monstera are heavy feeders and need frequent fertilizing

i actually just got this monstera, so I wasn’t sure how long to wait to fertilize. how often should you be fertilizing monsteras in general?

definitely check if it’s rootbound since it was a recent acquisition. i fertilize mine every other watering with reduced strength organic fertilizer (with added mycorrhizae), but you may want to do it more or less often depending on the strength of your fertilizer. chemical fertilizers should be used even less often
