Hey Hey, This is my weeping fig plant that I got about 6 months back. But now, all the leaves dropped and it’s completely dryyyy. How do I mnow if it died or is there any possibility for me to recover my plant?

my first suspect would be the pot size vs the root ball and suspect root rot if the pot size is too big for the root system. if the roots are good then it’s alive.

Check for root rot! If so cut of the root rot but keep the main roots! Water it les often to if so! Check the size of the pot it might be to big Also I suggest cutting or pruning some branches to encourage more growth! I did that w one of my dead plants and it worked nicely ☺️☺️

My weeping ficus lost all its leaves due to a temperature change last year. They don’t like cold drafts so if you have any, and I do mean any Swift temperature changes where it was located. Be that outside or next to a window with a cold draft it will drop all its leaves. My ficus has now ‘come back’ so to speak. Nice and full leaves. Everything looks good. However, I will tell you that when the draft dropped all the leaves half of my plant died, I would take a look at your weeping ficus and see if you have any limbs on the tree that are whiter or lighter in color. If so, cut those off as well as cut off any smaller, tinier branches so that your tree can focus on trying to refill. If it’s not temperature, I would definitely say take a look at the root system you might have root rot. If that’s the case, take hydrogen peroxide 3%, and spray down the bare roots really good. Spray down the pot itself before repotting as well. If that pot is too small for it, move up one or 2 inches if that pot is too large for it get a pot that is only one or 2 inches bigger than the root ball itself. Your ficus might go into shock after transplantation. Set your tree in a very sunny area and give it a good shower. The bright sunlight and water of your best friends during the transplant shock.
