This is my roommate’s plant, I never owned a plant and I want to save this thing it’s too cool looking. The tips of the leaves are turning brown and the bottom ones are straight up dead. What should I do?

So you have a Bird of Paradise on your hands. They’re so beautiful! Based on what I’ve read, it does appear to be underwatered which is easier to recover than overwatering. Take it out of the decorative pot and water it thoroughly until the al water comes out of the drainage holes. Once it stops dripping a lot, you can plop it back into it’s pretty pot. Let the top 3” or so be dry before watering again - don’t water on a schedule! I use a chop stick to gauge when my plants need water. Dip the chop stick in the soil and when you pull it out, you’ll see when it needs to be watered based on how much soil is stuck to the stick. BOP also need a lot of light so be sure it’s near a window. It should get a lot of bright but indirect light. You got this! Feel free to ask any more questions.
