This is my beautiful bonsai. I was on holiday that was supposed to last a week but ended up being 3 weeks and I had no one to take care of my bonsai. When I came back it had a lot of dead leaves and the leaves had changed colour! I’ve pruned off the dead leaves but I was wondering is there anything I can do to help it? Or is this normal? It wasn’t this colour before!

It’s probably just brown because it didn’t have enough water! I would say just water it like you would normally and hopefully it bounces back. Doesn’t seem like it would be the opposite, root rot, since you were gone so long!

Don't dose it with water though. Let it drink up so the you can see the roots taking to it. Too much water too fast can cause root rot.

Take off the dead leafs , for new once to grow, add some new nutrients to it like magnesium

And give some Sun light but not a lot of water little bit at a time

Lack of water is the biggest issue, maybe you didn’t give it enough? I would check on it and give it its normal water but keep a eye on it
