I’ve had my Chinese money plant for about four months now. A couple months ago I noticed these teeny tiny little grey bugs in the soil (not on the leaves at all). They are so small you can hardly see them. I’m wondering what they are and if they will harm my plant. My plant seems fine and is still producing new leaves so I’m wondering if it’s anything to worry about. I do have some yellowing bottom leaves recently but I believe that is because it is outgrowing it’s pit and getting root bound. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it!

They may be baby fungus gnats. They’re SUCH an annoyance, but won’t really harm the plant. My Pilea had an infestation not too long ago. Let it dry out good and well in the top 3” or so of soil… the bugs won’t like that. I also use systemic granules to treat the soil for pests. Good luck!

Thanks! I figured it was either that’s or harmless springtails.
