Help please! Planta recommends discarding my mother of millions due to this mildew substance… before noticing the white powdery ick on the leaf ends, I clipped each stem as they were getting quite leggy. I’d rather save her if I can. Any suggestions??

The cool thing is I see MoM seedlings starting. My similar plant has the same thing happening (I thought at first it was random clover or something). They are a hearty, noxious weed that wants to live. As far as what to do, I have two opinions - which are based on very little hard science - would try to clean it off, cut out anything attached that appears dead, and let it grow. Alternately, just let it grow.

Sure thing. Again, I read all the plant rules that help humans raise them as long as the plant is on the happy path. Then you have a natural disaster and things go sideways. Good luck, but for reals, I stressed about my MoM until realizing they are more or less like dandelions. They will grow through a tarp and in the middle of the yard for no reason. I have purposely kept it away from other plants because it’s always dropping seeds. My plant also contains a couple Mother of Hundreds due to that reason.

Mine struggled with powdery mildew also! I misted with water, wiped off all the leaves, pulled off the most affected leaves, and then sprayed with a neem oil mixture. If I see any more forming I repeat the process. Hopefully that works for you! Note: keep it away from other succulents while it’s healing. It spreads fast.

You’ve both suggested pruning the effected leaves/stems. That would leave bare stalks. Would/could they then grow back healthy?
