Hello I hope you are all well. My lemongrass has been growing strong until a few days ago and I don’t know what to do or what is wrong with it. I have looked into Rust on lemongrass but I’m unsure if that is what’s going on. I’m worried for my child please help 😭

I would agree it’s probably too much water around the roots. I would recommend repotting to a much smaller and manageable size pot, one sized to fit the plant. A 4 inch or 6 inches max. Your current pot has a lot of wet soil. That small plant can’t absorb the water. Lemongrass can stay pot bound for a long time. They are a type of grass and grasses do well in less than ideal conditions. The picture shows the lemongrass plant I bought in spring. It was originally about 2 feet tall. It’s about 5 feet, now, and sparse because of the 3 months heatwave. It’s struggling and still grew. I couldn’t plant it in the ground because of the heat. I water twice a day. It still grew even with overgrown roots. I use Osmocote timed release fertilizer. My point is the plant has a better chance in a smaller pot. Use a succulent potting mix with a regular potting soil mix to get good drainage. Good luck.
