Hi there, I am a pretty experienced plant parent who hasn’t had pests up until this point. However I am very paranoid that my Philodendron might have thrips. Any thoughts? I have also noticed in the past that my pothos n’joy has had what appears to be dirt on the bottom of the leaves (sorry I don’t have a photo)… I would appreciate any advise you all have!

These plants are a magnet for thrips in my experience! I would try wiping the leaves with alcohol and then use a neem oil spray or something similar. Also sometimes I stick the plant outside for a few days if you live in a warm climate. Best of luck !

My philodendron had the same yellow spots and it was rust so I treated with copper fungicide. But the little cream spots and needle like black bugs are thrips. Currently fighting off some on my philodendron as well, it seems like they just appeared overnight.
