Elephant plant going yellow on one side :/ soil is moist. I’m thinking it’s not enough sun on this side so I’ve moved it so that the yellow leaves are in the sun. Does it seem like this problem can’t be fixed? Is the plant dying?

Could be a sign of overwatering. Maybe check the roots to make sure they’re not starting to get root rot.

What type of soil are you using? You’re going to want to make sure it’s in a tropical soil that has things like orchid bark and perlite mixed in so there’s airflow around the roots. If it’s in the wrong soil or the soil is staying wet too long it’s better to take it out again and fix it than risk root rot spreading.

What do we think of the roots?

It’s hard to tell but they look pretty good. If there’s any that are black and stringy cut those off because thats a sign that they’re rotting. It also looks like you’ve got a corm growing so that’s a good sign. You can grow a new baby plant from the corm if you want. Otherwise I’d just try potting it in a soil that has plenty of chunky stuff like orchid bark to make sure there’s lots of air circulation for the roots.

Yeah I cleaned off more of the soil and could find any roots that looked bad. I’m wondering if the yellowing may be lack of sun

Usually yellowing leaves would be a sign of too much sun if it’s sun related. It could be a lack of humidity. Alocasias usually like at least 50-70% humidity. It could also be related to the water you’re using. If you have hard water it might be sensitive to the lime in the water. I have hard water so I use distilled water for my alocasias just to be safe. If you have a water softener that adds salt to the water it could also be a reaction to the salt in the water. Sorry I can’t narrow it down for you more. I hope I was able to help some.
