Just took this over from my sister, lots of the leaves are dead, what should I do?

    I’d start with a repot. It’s most likely overwatered and is getting root rot. Make sure it’s in a pot with drainage and that it’s in the right soil. If the roots have started to rot you may need to put it in a smaller pot once you cut off the rotted roots. The pot should only be a couple inches larger than your root ball. If it’s in too big of a pot then the roots won’t be able to absorb all the moisture from the soil and the soil will stay wet too long. Good luck!

    definitely repot down a size (or two!) the pot should only be an inch or two bigger than the root ball. I’d also spray with a fungicide and insecticidal spray to be sure.
