My rubber tree plant has had these strange white spots since I purchased it. Any idea as to what they are and how I can prevent them from causing further harm? They have a crusty texture. Something worth mentioning, my plant is budding new leaves at the bottom so it seems to be in a healthy state. I’ve just dusted off and cleaned each leaf gently with a soft cloth and these marks were still there
it looks like paint to me, i’ve found white spots like this on grocery store plants before plenty of times

I’ve been cleaning my leaves with 10% hydrogen peroxide diluted with distilled water, and then wiping it dry afterwards and that gets rid of dust and things pretty well. If you want to be extra careful, you could just clean a spot on a leaf that you don’t care about so much see how Plant responds and then clean the rest of the plant. I’m definitely interested to know if this is your problem.
