I’m still trying to learn about plant pests. Does anyone know what this is caused by on my monstera deliciosa (I was thinking maybe flat mites, but I truly don’t know).

Looks like sun burn to me

Yep, sun burn. Keep it out of windows and direct light.

monstera actually prefer bright light when indoors, but if it wasn’t acclimated properly it could be sunburn. these spots look more like fertilizer burn to me though. did you use a chemical fertilizer recently?
0 gillningarI did just bring it home about a month ago from somewhere it definitely wasn’t getting appropriate light (pretty much none), so the sun burn makes sense. I thought I had it far enough from a window but oh well haha. I haven’t fertilized it since I got it from what I can remember, so it wouldn’t be that. Thank you for your help!

ahh i figured that was the case, just wanted to check. i think where you had your monstera (where it got sunburnt) could be a good spot, i recommend moving it back there slowly (like 6 inches a week) so that it acclimates properly to the bright light, and this way you’ll have a vigorous and fenestrated monstera without the burns.
