Zinnias are prone to get infested by several insects including leaf miners, mites, aphids, caterpillars and several others. Plus, the are prone to fungus and powdery mildew which is shown on your plants. You can’t stop the invasive insects. But, you can reduce the probability of getting mildew. Water only the soil avoiding the leaves. Water early instead of late in the day to give the leaves a chance to dry out in the sun.

Thank you so much for the advice. I will remember that when I get more.

I forgot to add that mildew resistant zinnias cone out often. The latest batch are sold as series with many colors in each series. These are Profusion (gold medal winner), Magellan, Zahara and Queeny. Profusion Red Yellow is a medal winning bicolor. Let us know if you try the new zinnias.
