Does anyone know why this Gasteria flow looks like this? I don’t think it’s rot because I don’t really water it all that often. Could it be from the sun? I just don’t want it to die.

FriendofVegIt really looks like root rot… does the pot have drainage? Also I have killed succulents via root rot by pouring water on them when watering. Is it soft in the brown areas?

The pot has drainage and yes it’s soft where it’s brown

isaiahWith the soft brown areas, it does indeed look like it’s rotting :( Not much experience with these but I would unpot it to assess the damage. If the roots and plant look mostly okay, cut off any dead roots and repot in a better draining soil (the rot could be caused by lack of oxygen). If it’s all rotted and/or all of the stalks are mushy, I would look into how to propagate these guys from the remaining healthy parts.
