My variegated string of pearls is wrinkling, browning, and generally doesn’t look good. It came with one or two pearls looking pretty flat and wrinkly and with super dry soil so I watered it but the problem is getting worse. Have I overwatered it or is this something else? It doesn’t seem to have any bug pests so maybe something fungal or bacterial?

So part of the problem, I believe is all the pearls are laying in the dirt. I’ve had more success with the rooted parts in the pot and hanging the tendrils off the edge of the pot. They like a lot of bright, indirect light. Make sure the pot has good drawing soil and a drainage hole in the bottom. You NEVER want the water to touch the pearls directly. Water until water is pouring out of the bottom and it should be good for 10ish days. Or you can water from the bottom. Good luck!

That makes sense but the tendrils are very short. Should I move them to be near the edges and just not water for a while?

    I’d say overwatering
